Duke School of Nursing FNP Interviews

I have applied to Duke's FNP program. Cut off date was Feb 1st. I am still waiting to hear about an interview, does anyone who has been through the program have any ideas when they will start interviewing. I have called the school, but they are not very vocal about this.

SnoboardRN How did they contact you for the interview?? did you do it over the phone or go to campus?? Did they offer you admission during or after the interview or do you wait until May 1st? Thanks so much for your information! Goodluck!

They contacted me by email requesting an interview. I did the interview by phone, although they give you the choice of doing one in person if you want. Unfortunately I was hoping for some reassurance of admission after the interview, but it looks like they pass on our interviews w/ applications to the committee. I won't know anything for sure until May.

SnoboardRN, I'm sure you did a great job in the interview, but some form of reassurance sure would have been nice wouldn't it:)! I think we will all be glad when May comes! Do you live here in the Raleigh/Durham area?

Has anyone heard if they're still contacting applicants for interviews? I'm hoping that if individual professors are sending out emails, then maybe some applicants have yet to be contacted. That is my hope, at least!

Yes, they are still doing interviews. I contacted the school yesterday and spoke with the program coordinator (I wanted to know the mean gpa for student that were applying), she said most of the professors have not contacted anyone yet. They will be doing it this month and will be done by MaY 1ST. She said they will let the potential candidates know then. I hope this helps.

Thanks for getting the scoop, rphil77120! Still waiting to hear anything - hope we all hear soon. This waiting is excruciating! Did they end up telling you what the mean GPA for applicants was?

No, they sure didn't! She said she was not sure at this time. My GPA was a 3.8, and I am scared to death that all the others were higher and that maybe they have more experience than I do! You know how your mind can take off on its own!! I have come to the conclusion that it is what it is and I can always apply for the next semester. Yes, the wait is horrible!!!! augh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an interview this week, but for the ANP program.... I won't hear anything till May 1st though :/

I was contacted for an interview and it will be this week! I hope everyone else heard something too. I'm ready for May 1 to be here!
