Lnzhec, no, I haven't heard anything yet. That would be great if decisions were released this week, but I thought that they said they would be released in August. How do you think your interview went. I think I was sweating bullets!

I will be on campus and full time. I live about an hour away. 4 hours each way certainly would make a very long day. Who did you interview with?

I interviewed today for the FNP program at Duke for spring 2013. Anyone else out there in the same boat?

I have just had my second interview for my company's hospice nurse liaison. I have been trying to research some other information, but, unfortunately, I have not been very successful at finding much information. Are there any other liaisons out there? I would like to know when do you call it a day 5,6,or 7 in the evening. What do you do when you have left a hospital and then get a call that they have a family who is interested in hospice? Do you go back, make an appointment with them for the next day, or have the on call nurse do the info visit? What type of salary range can I expect? I am on the eastern US.

Mindlor, Not to make anyone upset by any means, however, There is nothing a NA can do, that we as Rn's cannot. Remember, it is certainly ok to delegate, but never come out of a room and ask someone to do something that you are certainly capable of doing. By the time you have walked down the hall and located a Nurse Aide, you could have already completed that simple task, not to mention that the patient is certainly going to be much happier to hear the Nurse say, "I can help you with that". It's all about the attitude that it is done. Another thing, when your NA's see that you are willing to help them, they will gladly return the favor, thus making the floor a much more enjoyable place to work.

No, they sure didn't! She said she was not sure at this time. My GPA was a 3.8, and I am scared to death that all the others were higher and that maybe they have more experience than I do! You know how your mind can take off on its own!! I have come to the conclusion that it is what it is and I can always apply for the next semester. Yes, the wait is horrible!!!! augh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, they are still doing interviews. I contacted the school yesterday and spoke with the program coordinator (I wanted to know the mean gpa for student that were applying), she said most of the professors have not contacted anyone yet. They will be doing it this month and will be done by MaY 1ST. She said they will let the potential candidates know then. I hope this helps.

SnoboardRN, I'm sure you did a great job in the interview, but some form of reassurance sure would have been nice wouldn't it:)! I think we will all be glad when May comes! Do you live here in the Raleigh/Durham area?

A friend of mine works with one of the professors at the hospital. She tracked her down and asked her a few questions.

I have an update. I have heard that each professor gets approx 10 applications that they review. They pull out the ones that they think will be a good fit. The prof. are supposed to meet at the end of APRIL to discuss their findings. I have heard that there were 90 applicants for 25 seats (that was for FNP). Oh Lord, that makes me nervous!!

I have applied to Duke's FNP program. Cut off date was Feb 1st. I am still waiting to hear about an interview, does anyone who has been through the program have any ideas when they will start interviewing. I have called the school, but they are not very vocal about this.
