While I like the cartoon, and as much as other people's problems can help put ours into perspective, I'm a staunch believer that just because other people have their own issues, that it doesn't make ours suck any less. For example, I have a terribly painful bladder disease. Someone else can easily say, "well at least you don't have cancer." No, I don't have cancer, but that does not diminish MY problems.

even if I hated my job, with the way things are with nursing right now, and all the nurses out of and looking for work, I am ECSTATIC to have it!!
This is true for a lot of jobs, careers, and professions out there. The economy has become such that jobs are hard to come by; good paying jobs are even harder to find. The number of folks on food stamps and other "assistance" has risen considerably. Many people receiving that would love to have our jobs or anything resembling our jobs just to put food on the table and pay the bills (and taxes).

The guy ("Peter") who called the Tom Sullivan Show this week and explained his "Plan B" really made me think about this a lot more: http://radio.foxnews.com/2013/03/20/...nt-plan-audio/ .

I would not consider such a thing, but these folks are out there.

Needless to say, this scenario it's happening all over, and no one is exempt to the laid-offs, therefore, feel blessed that you have a job, so attend to it if you don't someone else will... Aloha~

You are obviously management and/or those in power trying to scare nurses. I'll tell you why I've come to this conclusion: If a nurse with any experience at all at bedside in these times is able to practice easily without concern for the safety of their patient within the time constraints given - you would feel sooooo lucky to as not push your fist in the faces of nurses going through the threat of the safety of their patients and their licenses in light of the plight they are going through with your above comment. aloha
