Zoloft and the Night Shift

I just began Zoloft a week ago and am in the middle of a month of night shifts. The issue I've had is that I get home from my shift, take my Zoloft, then go to sleep and wake up an hour later, unable to sleep any more. The first time this happened it combined with a bit too much caffeine from the shift before and when I awoke my brain was a foggy, anxious mess and I felt like I was being possessed (NOT the feeling that I'm usually aiming for). Gratefully, that feeling left once I cleared all of that caffeine.

I'm wondering if anyone for whom Zoloft increases their wakefulness (or straight-up causes insomnia) has ever tried taking it shortly before their night shift and, if so, has it helped to stay awake during the night and to rest during the day? Would it mess with the body too much to take an SSRI at different times of the day or would that likely be masked by the fact that working nights wreaks havoc on the body anyway?

One more reason that I ask is I'm wondering if the serotonin increase would just be turned into melatonin during the night, causing me to be even more drowsy during my shift (serotonin being a precursor to melatonin, The Pineal Gland and Melatonin).
