Year Off Before Msn Entry Program? Ucla, Ucsf, Columbia

hi nursing students!

quick question...what do you guys recommend about taking a year off before going to nursing school as opposed to going straight through? i want to enter a fast-track program at ucla, ucsf, or columbia. if i were to take a year off what would be some things that i could do during that time?

also, if any of you go to ucla, ucsf, or columbia would you mind if i asked you about your personal experience?
