Would those of you who are employed as wound care nurses give those interested an idea of the types of positions, conditions of the job, you are currently experiencing?
What is a typical day for you?
Thanks for sharing!

I am currently not working in Wound Care due to relocating to another state, but I hope to be again soon. I had a job in a small rural hospital with a LTC facility prior to this. I did skin assessments and Braden scales on all LTC resident two days a week and dealt with any problems. Part of my job was making sure preventive methods were in use. I made wound rounds in acute care and home health. I didn't actually see the home health patients, just reviewed the cases with the nurses and made suggestions.
In the future, it is expected that all LTC facilities will be required to have a wound nurse on staff. Two states already have laws for this.
