Being a NP would still involve a good amount of hands on involvement with patients. The wonderful thing about nursing is there are so many different avenues to explore as a nurse. Not everything has to be at the bedside treating sick patients in the hospital setting. If you're thinking about the grad school route, what I would suggest is something research-based. You can make it as much about the disease processes as you want and don't have to worry as much about patient interaction. That's my opinion. Hope it helps.

So I am almost done with my university's nursing program!
I love the lecture aspect of my program.. I love learning and studying the different diseases. I've gotten good grades in all my classes so far.. My trouble is the actual hands-on nursing!
Right now I am doing a nursing internship and it is making me feel like nursing is not a career for me..
I am more of a shy and geeky person. I think and analyze A LOT, I am very detail-oriented, I like order and staying organized.
I think RN might be a wrong fit for me b/c of my personality..
I am more anxious than the average person x)
I experienced my first RRT during my internship when I was with my patient and thought I was going to vomit and faint.. This scares me when I do become an RN because I don't want to harm my patient.. I don't want to make a mistake because of my anxiety.
Anyways though, I feel like becoming a Nurse Practitioner would be a better fit for me than RN.. What do you guys think of it?
