Would these increase chance of acceptance to UNC-Chapel Hill?

Hello everyone,

How are you? I am currently working on my associate's degree at a local community college, and I plan to apply to UNC-CH Nursing. I recently received an invitation for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and it requires me to pay $65 to become a member. I would like to know would a membership in Phi Theta Kappa increase my chances of getting accepted into UNC-CH? Also, I understand that the school doesn't ask for recommendation letters, but if I send in one or two, would this also increase my chances of getting in? I am very grateful to anybody who would kindly advise and help me.
