I am currently doing my pre reqs at a community college, going to take the TEAS in 2 weeks and applying to the nursing program after I complete the exam.
The closer it gets, the more doubtful I am and want to back out of it. I have straight A's in my pre reqs, that doesn't really concern me.
I'm worried about what I will do after I complete the program. Reading this forum I got a good look (or not??) of most of the stresses of nursing.
It kinda sucks. Is it really worth all the hard work? I don't want to feel burned out or hate my job. I have worked as a CNA before and could not handle it at all .. I quit shortly after I was hired I would love some encouragement at this time of my career..
I want to go into nursing because I feel I can contribute positive outcomes and attitudes in patients and coworkers etc. I love studying the human body and being there with a person who needs help is part of it. Lastly because it pays well. I know people say not to go into it because of that.. but at what job do you not look at the salary portion of it.
I would love to maybe do pediatrics or be a school nurse. I have a lot more research to do but insights on this would be awesome!
