Working at nursing school in the USA

Hello everyone,

I would like to work in the USA for a year or possibly more.
I am a nurse in Germany and I have a master's degree in vocational education in the field of health and nursing sciences.
I would prefer to work at a nursing school in the USA in New York State or New Jersey.
Now I'm not quite sure whether I have to take the NCLEX for this. Basically, I'm willing to do it, but the way I see it, I need an employer to hire me as an RN, right? There is no way to take the test first without an employer in the USA, am I right?
Otherwise I would take the test from Europe and then apply directly with my Master of Education degree. My university transcripts are already translated.
If this doesn't work out, I would of course first try to find an employer who would take me on as an RN. Unfortunately, I haven't worked in a hospital for 10 years and therefore have a bit of respect for it. Can anyone give me any input or good places to start?

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

Bianca
