Working while in nursing school

Published

Hello fellow nurses, I am currently an LPN and have been since 2019. I worked previously worked in a clinic setting with fabulous hours M-F and no weekends, then I got accepted into an ADN program, which was super exciting and something I have been trying to get into for awhile now. From the start, I knew I wouldn't be able to work my amazing clinic job once I was in school and I had planned to not work until I knew the workload of the program anyway. Fast forward to now, I've been getting by this semester but now I am looking for a way to earn some money while on holiday break and in the future until I graduate. I really need something that is extremely flexible and not necessarily a nursing job because I don't want it to be 1. stressful while I'm already stressed in school. 2. Demanding and being guilt tripped for not working through a company (I have researched home health, private duty, agency, remote positions but I didn't really have any luck and it didn't seem to work with my schedule), I really just need something I can pick up when I am available. So, in my research I have found a company called Papa Pal, this is a newer service provided by insurance companies and you basically help out a person in your community with household tasks such as cleaning, meal prep, transportation to doctor offices or grocery store and just keeping a person company, which I think all in all is just a really great tool for people to have so I have decided to sign up but now I'm wondering if this is okay for me to do while I'm in school since I have an active license as a nurse, although I am not performing medical care to any of these patient's. I really don't know if I am too concerned and overthinking about this but I do not want to put my license in jeopardy, so I'm here looking for some advice. Thank you in advance. :)
