I took the CNA course in Colorado with Nursing and Therapy Services of CO. I worked for one year as a CNA but then we moved to VA(we're a military family). I have not worked for 2 1/2 years as a CNA. We are now living in NC and I was wondering if anyone knows whether I need to take another course (again) or if I can just take the State exam and Skills test to become certified again? My certification lapsed in January 2012.
Thanks for any help you can give! Beth

Well, not completely sure of NC's state laws (I'm from MA) but this website says you have to work at least 8 hours every 2 years to renew. I think you would have to take the course again.

I think in the state of NC you are able to take one "challenge" test. There are study guides online for the skills portion! Best of luck!
