work overseas and get paid for it

Published

To those adventurous nurses who want to get into international nursing, it is possible to work overseas and get paid for it. I work at Commonwealth Health Center in Saipan, Northern Marianas Islands. There is a picture of the hospital on the Saipan wikipedia page. The hospital is currently recruiting nurses and midwives and provides round trip travel, a modest salary, and housing allowance. You will not get rich but you will get alot of experience with multiple cultures and sometimes limited resources. They will want a two year commitment and you should have some experience. If you want more information you can email me at [email protected]. I can't tell you much about other units but I can tell you about L&D where I work.

Specializes in ICU.

Hi! I have TONS of questions about Saipan... I am moving there in one month. I tried emailing you but the address didn't work. Could you PM me or leave a new email?

Thanks so much.

Hi laroo,

I saw your other post about your boyfriend working as a PA in Saipan.... would be happy to tell you more about Saipan. I just moved back to the US after 2 years. If you don't hear from the Bd of Nsg don't worry, you can walk into their office at CHC and apply for your license. Not sure what the status of hiring nurses is at the moment, but it will be more effective if you show up in person.

I am unable to PM because I don't have enough posts... so is there another way you would like me to respond? List your questions and I'll do my best to answer!

Hi,

I am considering going to Saipan to work as an RN, and just found this email thread. Are you still working in Saipan? I'd love to be able to ask you a ton of questions! Let me know if you're around.

Thanks!

Would be wise to review this info on the Islands...looks to be quite a deluge of political problem...
