So I am military spouse so we live in Trenton area....I would encourage you to apply for your license early as they are slooooow here at the college due to RNs and RPNs being processed out of the same college...weird no? ...it took me nearly 3/months to get my license!!! I have lived across Canada and have even lived here before and was amazed how long it took this time....jurisprudence exam etc....but I also have a ton of paperwork fue to living in 4 provinces in last 10 years...but generally takes a long time for most....so here the job market is slim....Ottawa better than here and I do see a lot of job ads in Toronto but I have been told that is not always the way there....I have a very good job at a health unit here which is rare for RPN... But I am also contract and don't have much hope of extended stay past July after almost two years at that point....but like I said it's pretty slim pickings in this area...hospital work is mostly casual...long term care (not my bag but it is available) and home care which I love and did for 3+ years in NS..but UN unionized for the most part in my area and pay is crap....which is unfortunate as I was paid fair and unionized in NS...hope this is helpful
