You don't provide what type of background you have. Companies like intelicare (not sure if I spelled that correctly) and fonemed provide telephonic triage services. There are insurance companies that are increasingly sending employees home to work as utilization management nurses or case managers which are phone based jobs.
i'm an rn (associates degree only) with a year and a half of med/surg-ortho experience. thanks for the company names. i'll have to look into them.

I look at a website from a consumer advocate down in Atlanta, GA, and click on this site for (seemingly) legit work-from-home opportunities:

I can't vouch for this myself, but this guy's staff apparently weeded out the fly-by-nights and came up with the following list, so I thought I'd spread it around to others, ok.
The customer service offerings don't pay a lot, but with a land-line phone, apparently one can do this and stay at home. Enjoy.

Don't go to Intellicare the Managers and training are fueding and the end result is new hires are in the middle and the managers make sure they suffer because they want the training back with them where it used to be.
It must have lots of perks for them to do the training. Had to quit or lose my sanity.
