Words Of Endearment

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey, just wanted to post some encouraging words, since I have read these message boards in the past while in school, and out of school. I graduated an RN diploma program June 2011, didn't study for my boards, and failed it. I took a whole year off doing other various things in life that had my attention.

To the point, just a little over 2 months ago, I decided that I needed to finish what I started. So I signed up for Virtual ATI. It took me 2 months straight of everyday studying, 4-6 hours a day, sometimes even 12 hour study sessions. In the end, I passed NCLEX-RN a full 13+ months out of school with only 2 months of studying. The test turned off at 120ish questions.

I did the PVT, and I had the good pop-up. I took the test on 8/27/2012, got my license today ( 8/28/2012 ).

The only materials I used to pass were Virtual ATI. Make sure you do ALL YOUR WORK. That means going over every single area below 60% with a fine-tooth comb. I also used WIKI to help correlate the pathophysiology to a higher level than what was taught from the ATI material. I am a firm believer that if you know the pathophysiology, you dont need to learn anything else. Knowing the pathophysiology of the the disease process will help you step through potential adverse affects.

Anywho, I was just posting this to give some-one some encouragement--that even after a year has passed, its still possible to reteach yourself.

Good Luck To All!
