Women's Health NP positions

Specializes in ICU, L&D.

Hello all,

I am applying for grad school at UIC Fall 2013. They have a dual specialty program for WHNP/midwifery. I was just wondering for all the WHNP's out there, what kind of positions are you working in? Anyone work in a hospital setting? Doctor's office? Private practice? Clinics? What are the up's and down's? Any advice/suggestions? What populations do you see where you work? I would just love some insight in this specialty. For the WHNP's do you do a lot of antepartum care? Any opinions or things anyone thinks I should know would be appreciated!

I have 2 years of ICU experience and I'll have had 1 year of L&D experience by the time I start school (Praying I get into this program)

You might get more answers if you ask in the APN section. :)
