About a month ago I strained my back pretty badly at work lifting residents. Since then I have been on light duty and had to see a doctor, use medication, and go to physical therapy. The other workers have just been really catty towards me. Yet the problem remains with uncooperative staff, not enough aides, and frequent call offs. Now I've only been there 3 months and did miss a few days which is bad I know but two of them were related to the injury. It seems I can't get help when I need it. What makes it worse is that I've gotten a written warning for getting hurt cause it also put the resident in danger as they were a two assist. I've seen the doc now and am released but very concerned what to do if this happens again. With that paper in my file now they could try to get rid of me. I start nursing school in March and will work daylight. On one hand maybe I should try daylight maybe it would be different but I'm also afraid that it won't be. If I am to be in healthcare and nursing I don't want to burn my bridges now and land in the icy cold waters!
