Will a 2.99 GPA prevent me from being accepted into a MSN program?

Published

I am currently enrolled in an RN-BSN program at UTA. I was previously enrolled and failed some courses that I was unable to complete due to a medical reason. My goal is to apply to a MSN program for education and then NP. I have been told that a MSN program will never accept me with a GPA of 2.99 and that I am wasting my time in the RN-BSN program. I am very disappointed that my dream is unreachable. My question is should I apply to a new program so that I can start over with my GPA or should I continue with the program I am in? I am retaking classes and I was granted 2 grade exclusions and i have 35 credit hours to complete. Will I be able to get into an MSN program?

Thank you
