Okay, I was reading a few forums and I am really taken aback by how much anger there is in the nursing community, the best word would be, hate there is toward Filipino nurses. I am just wondering what other people's take on this is... I mean, so there are many people of a certain race in a profession, what is the big deal?
This is a honest question, it really baffles me...just was wondering what others have to say...

I work with quite a few Filipino nurses... and I can't say I've ever noticed this at work. Don't think I can recall witnessing it on this board either? Do you have an example of what you're talking about?

I've been visiting these fora for years and I've not noticed that to which you're referring. I've also worked with a number of Filipinos - and my very first instructor was one - and haven't heard this as a common theme. Perhaps you could reference the specific threads to which you're referring.
It could be, however, that you're confusing hatred or bias with the oft-stated opinion (which I share) opposing the importation of foreign nurses when we are facing such a glut of nurses (especially here in California) and when new grads are facing such troubles in securing gainful employment.
I can say I have seen it on this forum, it wasn't as harsh as the one forum I was on .. Nurse RN Jobs Forum - New Graduate Nurse - Page 28 | Indeed.com , and of course in a working situation people don't actually talk about it in public..it's always behind people's backs...its just a sad reality :/

You could be right, people's strong opinions come off as hatred sometimes I guess. As a new grad I know the struggle first hand. I just don't see the need to single out a group because they are trying to make a better living for themselves...
