Why does it have to be nursing related?

I love this site. But I see most people posting are interested in starting a business that is health-care related. Why limit yourself? I know you are wanting to take advantage of your education, and there is certainly nothing wrong with starting a health-related business, but is that really what you love doing? Is there some other interest you have that you would love doing? Wouldn't you like to do something that you looked forward to doing when you get up in the morning? Something that really taps the creative juices within you?

My wife and I are both RN's and have been for many, many years. We recently started our own busines, she a candy store and I a tax preparation business. That may not sound like fun to you, but to us it's heaven. It's something that we both love doing and will be able to do for as long as we wish.

I hate to say, "Think outside the box," since it is a old and trite saying, but since I just said it...

I agree with you very much so. I DO have a current business, it is a military hobby business. I do mail order, retail store, and catalog. I work in with DD clients at night and run my business during the day (works out pretty good there). I enjoy it very much, but my wife does not care for it all (weapons {no firearms} and such). So to appease her, I am selling it. I always wanted to start a family entertainment center (FEC), but that takes ALOT of money. Even with years of researching it; coming up with various plans; what would work, what would not; what to open first with the least amount of capital, and so forth. I really want to do it. I am even willing to have partners, the profit potential is fantastic, but it still takes money.

My point is, I love the world of business. I also love the medical field and helping others. So until I can come with the money to open a FEC, I want to combine my two passions together and open a nursing venture.

As for others, I cannot say why nursing. But that is my honest answer, and I am sticking to it. :)
