I browse through this site almost every day, but rarely post. But I can't help but comment on a rather disturbing trend . It seems like more people on here fail NCLEX than pass it. Why is that? I took the exam in April, passed with 75 questions and I was only there about an hour. Has the exam changed since then? Is it harder? WHAT is going on? My daughter is in nursing school now, and will be taking NCLEX soon..... so I can't help but wonder how she will do.

I have seen just as many stating that they sat the exam and have come back with their passes too... I really think it equates out...
The ones that have failed post for assistance in ways to better study and prepare for next time :)
I did hear that changes had been made to the NCLEX but I am not sure how. Maybe others can enlighten us. :)

The pass rate has been stable for years -- around 85% give or take a % or two. It's just that the people who fail come here for support and advice.
Your post is a good example of why we as a profession need to engage in formal research. Sometimes, what we notice and what stands out in our minds is skewed a bit. However, if you actually look at ALL of the people who take the exam, the numbers haven't changed significantly.

I have to agree with the others. I didn't come onto this website until I failed the first time. I was so devistated that all my friends passed and I had nobody for support anymore. Then my friend told me about this website and I am here every other day. I do know that the test got just a little harder the start of April 07. Our nursing school made sure that we all knew that and what to maybe expect. Good luck to you daughter, more pass than fail, but support her no matter what!:)
