HEY PEOPLE,

Specializes in ER, ICU, cardiac.

i came to a cardiac/icu stepdown right out of nursing school. i chose that route b/c i knew i loved critical care. it was a good place to start b/c i got the critical care training/ACLS. i learned a lot about pt care, basics of ekg/ecg, how to manage a pt load of 4-5 patients. We got a wide array of patients-psych patients with chest pain, a broken hip in afib, chronic vent patients, lots of HD patients, complex patients-lots of good experiance! I eventually went on to an ICU but i think my heart will always been in cardiac (we have no CVICU at my hospital or that is where i would be!)
