WHNP relocating to Georgia

I am a WHNP relocating to Atlanta and I want to know if the need for WHNPs is there. I’ve heard that the need in Georgia in general is not a lot. I am worried that I will have difficulty finding a position.

Why are you going to Atlanta if you don’t think you can get a job? I don’t know the market but it’s provably better to at least interview for jobs before you go so you don’t end up having to take a non NP position.

Well you are not getting a lot of answers.....

I live in GA and I am an NP but not in women's health. From what I see you are going to have to network like crazy and be willing to drive. The alternative is to live out in the boonies where there are very few providers, however you may have trouble getting a collaborator out there. The state of Georgia is awesome in my opinion as far as cost of living and family life and things to do. Unfortunately it is still VERY "old boy network" in medical. I would highly encourage you to immediately get involved with local NP groups and begin to network. If you have experience I think you will get a job, however pay and role may be different then what your expectations are.
