Which NP route would be best?

I am going into my junior year of my BSN program, so I still have a while to go before I have to make a decision about graduate school. I had originally thought about eventually becoming a CRNA, but then realized I did not want to work a rather monotonous job.

I then looked into some NP degrees. I may start out with the FNP degree, then get a post graduate certificate in ACNP A couple that stood out to me were the FNP and ACNP degrees. I would like to maybe have my own practice, but also I would love to be a NP in the ER. Can FNP work in a hospital/ER setting without an acute care NP degree? Or would it be best just to get both?

Also, my college offers the FNP completely online or in the classroom; but the ACNP is only offered in the classroom. Would it be smart to do the FNP degree online or in the classroom while working as a RN?

I only know one acnp, all the rest are fnp. Our hospitalist group employs only FNP since we see kids in the hospital also. FNP all the way. Of course I am biased though so....

I do a reputable program with a good rep. Not these 80k tuition online for profit programs people do. 80K for an FNP program. WOW those people are suckers.

good luck :)
