Where do I go to get an IV Certification? Job posts say certification required.

Specialties Infusion

Hello, everyone. I live in CT and I am an RN with 16 years of bedside care experience. The thought that I need to be "IV Certified" seems odd. But, apparently, some places require a certification. I really want to get a job as an Infusion RN. Can anyone please give me a link where I can find a class for certification in CT? I want a really good class. I want to be marketable.

How long do the certification courses take? I've done a google search, but I'm really coming up empty handed.

Thank you so much!

The certification that they are probably referring to is the Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI). It is a national certification given by INCC/Infusion Nurses Society and it denoted you as someone who has excellance/expertise in infusion therapy. Go to www.ins1.org for a list of states which are giving the next exam. Also check out the "recommended" prereq's before sitting for this exam. They do have numerous study tools for you to purchase at the INS online store.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! Yes, that helps. I thought there was some class that I needed to take. So, I'll go check that out and see where the exams are given. I'll buy the book so I can be prepared. I appreciate your help!
