When should i look to contact agencies?

Published

Sorry as i know this has been asked before....

But i'm wondering when i should look into contacting agencies if i want to travel starting late June?

I live in Florida and really want to do an assignment somewhere relatively close (in-state) for my first gig and was curious when i should start looking? I know Florida is tougher now, but my wife and I love Sarasota and was maybe hoping we could get an assignment there in late June. After that, we are heading out West for awhile.

So, when should i get started contacting agencies?

I would encourage you to start talking to different companies as soon as you can. It takes time to pick the right recruiter and the right company. Your recruiter makes all the difference. You want someone who is there for you. Don't let them push into any thing. Make a list of questions for them. Don't jump at the first company. Once you get your resume out, you will be called by multiple companies.

Anyway, good luck and let me know if I can help in any way.

so i should get my resume in order and start contacting agencies next week then to ask about assignments for June?

You will want to get resume, copy of certs (BLS, ACLS, TNCC, et whatever you have) together. It's always smart to go to your doctor and get your phyisical, titers, PPD etc done. That way you have one copy that doesn't have a company logo on it. It makes applying alot faster (keep copies of everything). All this is a tax write off.

By the way, make sure you get a mumps titer. Some hospitals require it and others done, it's just good to have it completed.

You can go online to different sites, check which companies use it, and submit your application. Then companies will call you. Personally, I stayed away from the larger companies. If you have read any of the post here, you will understand why.

Interview each of the recruiters, make sure that you connect with them, they are your lifeline.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best of luck in your adventure!:yeah:
