Whats the Maternal/Infant/Child Clinical Rot Like?

Published

It just hit home to me that I might be around hospital birth during my nursing education. While I've had 3 children, I've had them in... unique situations, so I haven't had the normal hospital experience.

What was your maternal/infant/child rotation like? Just walking into a maternity ward literally gives me hives. The thought of "holding someone's leg while the doctor makes her push" makes me want to run the other direction as FAST as possible.

So please share :) and if you had any trouble getting through it, let me know how you did it. :)

(I should say that the natural birth of a child does not bother me in the least, but the medicalization of birth brings back some serious traumatic memories)
