What time are clinicals at ccccd and how do you get assigned to them?

Published

I plan on starting the nursing program at CCCCD in the fall and I was just wondering what time in the morning that the clinicals normally start? Also I was wondering how do you pick, or get assigned your clinicals because I work full time, and I really dont have a choice on whether or not I can work if I dont want to live out of my car I have to work so.... If anyone that is currently attending the nursing program at CCCCD, or has attended their in the recent past could fill me in I would greatly appreciate it. Also since I am pretty sure you cant pick your clinicals is it possible to trade with someone else if you found somebody that was willing to do that. Thanks alot!!

You would get more responses if you posted this question in the regional forum under the appropriate state. Good luck.

CCCCD clinicals: Clinicals are on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You have to report at 0645 to your hospital. You are assigned your hospital in advance and it is posted near the Nursing office. I have never heard of anyone switching. Regardless, you would have to be at your hospital at 0645. Very few people work fulltime. It is recommended to work 20 hours at the most IF you must. In the 2nd semester, part of our clinical rotation will be at a site in Terrell (I believe that is correct). It is two hours away. Hope that helps a little. You can always contact the Nursing office and ask them specific questions if you'd like.
