Hello all, I am curious. What did your resume look like at the time of application when you applied to a nursing program? Did you have volunteer experience? Did you have work experience? Did you have ANY experience? Besides a high GPA what made you look "special" or "worthy" to be accepted to schools?

I am currently trying to gain work experience by becoming a medical assistant. I know many are not too keen on this idea and recommend CNA experience more. With medical assisting I can move slower which will allow me to learn more instead of rushing through things as a CNA. I am also looking into volunteering at a hospital close by. I am trying to beef up my resume and also gain knowledge in hopes of looking good to schools. This is important for me because I am looking into second degree ABSN programs and have no type of experience in the healthcare field whatsoever at this time. Thanks in advance for your responses!!
