What is regeneration/maturation phase?

What is regeneration in wound care? What does maturation phase mean? What is the difference?

My concept:

regeneration: the natural renewal of a structure, as of a lost tissue or part

maturation phase:in wound healing the third phase is maturation & remodeling which is when levels of collagen production and degradation equalized, the maturation phase of tissue repair is said to have begun. the tensile strength of the wound increases.

Does regeneration refer to the whole wound healing process, or is it just the maturation phase?
