Guys, I just want to know the purpose of LVN to RN 30 unit option? do you recommend it to someone? I am interested of the job opportunities available for those who finish the LVn to RN 30 unit option inside California?

The LVN 30 Unit Option is a certificate upgrade program that prepares students to take the NCLEX-RN exam and get licensure as a RN.

But can I still work as an Rn after I finish my 30 unit option? Do you think I can still get in the LVN-BSN program later on after the 30 unit option ? I am not interested working outside California. My relatives are in California. I want to pursue the RN 30 unit option but I am scared that i will have problems looking for a job as an RN with no degree, and it will hinder me to get accepted into the BSN Program later on...

From my understanding, the purpose of the 30 units, RN, which is a non-degree option, is geared toward LVN's looking to become an RN without taking all the pre-requisites needed to enter into a traditional ADN program. I advise looking at which RN-BSN programs you desire to enter and contact them, verifying if they'll accept this non-degree RN option since it does not include all completed general education coursework. Best of luck.
