HI I am considering going to grad school right after my BSN I need some help!! I would like to work in a hospital setting possilbly 12 hour shifts and am wondering if Any specialties MSN are currently doing so?
What type of jobs are available in the hospitals for MSN Nurses?
Geographically, who gets hired? Do CNS' work in the hospitals, while NPs work in clinics?
Thanks for any help!!!

This may not be the answer you are looking for. In fact, with so general a question, it may not be that anyone could answer it. It is so dependent on so many variables.
I would recommend you work a little while in the areas you have interest in, for a year or more, and then try on what you like so to speak, and then decide on what choices you want to investigate. While you are in these areas, you can view others in various job roles. You might find you want to be an administrator, an educator, or tend to gravitate to clinical areas... It will be more about how you are wired than the area most in demand. Another option, is that you interview people in these job field, maybe shadow them for a day, and be prepared with at least a list of 20 questions most important to you about what it is they do.
Demand is nice, but there is a demand for most anything depending on where you go. Geography will play a big part in this. Not to mention, to some degree, so will your experience, personality, and work ethic.
Questions you can ask yourself: What pace can you work at, how many days, what kind of hours or shifts are you willing to work, do you like to work alone or in groups, what environment are you comfortable in, and how much education are you willing to obtain?
Perhaps, it will be like a bright beacon, and a light will come on, and you will say, that's the job for me. Perhaps, you will not like any of it, and have to move around a bit to find the right fit. The only thing that is really is going to answer your questions is time and experience.
Some people know what they want to be and exactly what they want to do. They are lucky. Most need to figure it out along the way.
The very best advice is listen to your heart and do what fulfills you most, because you are the one who will have to live with your choices. People who do this, tend to be happy and productive.
Good luck!
