What I wish I knew when I started my first nursing job

Published

I just graduated from my LPN program and will be getting my RN degree in 2011. In the mean time I am trying to get a job at a local rehab center as an LPN and I am very nervous to start working. Is it normal to feel this way? I learned so much in school but I'm just scared I'm not ready. At the same time I'm really excited and want to work as an LPN I just want to be as prepared as I can be. Have any other new grads felt this way?

I also am wanting to know from those of you that already have some experience is there anything you can say, "I wish I would have known_________________before I started working as a nurse that would have helped me so much." Is there anything you can recommended NOT doing when I start my first job.

Just trying to get any information from other's experiences that might help me be more prepared. Any tips/advice/comments would be helpful. Thanks! Kaci
