What else to do with a nursing degree?

Published

I passed my NCLEX last month and even though I do not have any nursing experience in the US I do have over 2 years of ICU experience in another country.

I've been trying to find a job, but with no experience and not a single word of spanish in my vocabulary it's really hard to find something. Where else could I look? I tried every hospital, LTC facilities, LTAC, SNF, Hospice, Birthing centers, I looked on Craigslist for caregiver jobs - to no avail.

Where else can I look? It doesn't have to be bedside nursing, I just want to do something! :-) Thanks for the input!

Its only been a month? I know some places it takes longer than that for them to process your application and get you an interview. I know nurses can get into insurance or sales rep however usually you need a few years of nursing experience.

Specializes in Emergency.

Home health? I think with the economy you should give it more than a month.

I know it's kinda short time compared to what I've been reading on here. It just seems longer to me. I do have experience, but it's been 7 years and I wouldn't count that as recent :-(

Im a practicing RN at a facility for mentally disabled children and adults. I looked on Monster and job search. Found a few facilities, went and filled out an application. I'm get great experience with Neuro (seizures), CP, ADD, Autism, MR, and being a pt advocate. It's not my ideal job but it's working well for now
