What degree to choose?

I am currently doing my pre-reqs and have been going back and forth between if I want to stick with the RN program or change to the Surgical Tech program. Let me give you a little background. I love working in the medical field, I am 29 years old,have a 7 month old daughter, and have been married for almost 7 years. The biggest draw to the surg tech program for me is the fact that it seems to not be quite as demanding (as far as the clinical schedule) and with my daughter being so young that is weighing heavily on my decision. Not to mention my husband goes to work at 3:30 am which will make juggling schedules harder. I was just wondering if anyone possible in a simular situation had any advise to add. I know that there is quite a difference in pay between the two but my daughter is my number one priority. I don't want to yank her all around even if it's only temporary.
