I am currently in an accelerated nursing program. I will graduate with my BSN in August of 2014. I also have a bachelors of science in biology from the same university. I am looking to apply for fall 2014 admission into Duke's master's program (pediatric acute care nurse practitioner).
I was wondering if not having experience as an RN is going to significantly weaken my application?
I graduated with a 3.4 GPA with my bachelors of science in Biology, and I am doing well in my nursing classes. I took the GRE and did well on the quantitative (80th percentile), and not as well on the verbal section so I am retaking the exam in November.
I do not want to apply if there is no chance of getting accepted, what are your opinions? Should i apply (downside is the time it takes to do the application and the money spent on the fees)?
Thank you so much!
