What are my chances of getting into FAU's freshman nursing program?

Published

Hello! I am currently a junior in highschool, however I've wanted to go to FAU's freshmen nursing program ever since I was a Highschool freshman. I was wondering what you guys think my chances may be? My GPA as of right now is a 4.23, but I have all of this year to hopefully bring it up and not drop it. I've only taken AP/ dual enrollment/ honors classes. I'm aiming for a 25-26 on my upcoming ACT, I hope. Do you think I have any chance? Thank you.

I don't know about FAU's nursing program in particular, but most nursing programs don't take into account what grades you received in high school. They only factor in your gpa from taking your prerequisites prior to entering the nursing program. Your high school Gpa will only be used for your initial admission to the school.

Okay so I looked on FAU's website and saw that they did in fact have a freshman direct admit program. In which case please disregard my initial post. Lol I think your grades are great, but I would see if you could contact an advisor at the school for the nursing program and see if you would be competitive. A lot of nursing programs keep stats of the average gpa accepted from semester to semester so that would give you a good idea.

Hi, I see you posted a while ago--I will say your chances of getting into the freshman direct admit program are excellent. My daughter received an acceptance into their program for the Fall--her GPA is high with honors/AP/dual enrollment (sorry-don't know what it is currently), ACT was only 23. She additionally has numerous community service hours and leadership hours that I think made up for the lower test scores. Keep up the great work!
