What do they call you?

They call me The Breeze:

I prefer to go by Ms. (last name) or Nurse (last name).

Almost all the other nurses in the district go by Nurse (last name). I think the kids should address me with the same level of respect as their teachers and administrators. It becomes difficult since some students and staff are not comfortable with my name.

I'm referred to as Nurse first name. My last name long and harder to say/remember. I don't feel like it's as professional but the kids usually just say Nurse anyway. It makes me more approachable and the kids treat me with respect so it's not been a problem. (Although my own kids think it's hilarious.)

I'm not a school nurse, but just for fun: at my LTC/rehab facility, I'm called (my name), Sir, Nurse!, Enfermero! (male nurse en Espanol), Hey! C'mere!, Doctor!, and probably something else I'm forgetting...

Nurse First Name. My last name can be a little hard to pronounce for the little ones.

I got this alot last year, my first year here. The outgoing nurse had been here forever. Kids were still walking in around April, asking "where is the other nurse?"

I PREFER "Nurse First Name". Mainly because that's how I introduce myself at the hospital I work at as well. But that rarely happens. Its usually just "Nurse" unless the people who are speaking to me or referring to me actually know my name my principal calls me "Nurse Last Name" though. I'm not terribly picky to be honest. I'll answer to it all!
