What Are My Odds?

Published

Hello everyone,

Today I took the HESI A2 exam and scored an overall score of 85%. I debated on whether retaking the exam would be a good idea or not, but I decided against it. I am currently a community college student and I intend on transferring into nursing school next semester. My current weighted GPA is 3.07 (my cumulative GPA is somewhere in the high 2.00's), but with these last few classes I'm taking now, I'm hoping my GPA will increase. With all of this in mind, what would you say my chances are in being admitted?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

It depends on what nursing school you want to go to. Does your school only look at the overall score or do they look at individual sections? If they look at individual sections and you got a low score on one of them, then its best to retake it. For example, my nursing school I want to go to, looks at my grades for individual sections and if I dont have atleast an 85 on each section, they wont even look at my application. I would also recommend retaking some classes if you can to raise your gpa. Your chances depend how competitive your school is, but at the same time, usually all nursing schools are competitive now a days. Good luck!

Update: I'm academically eligible to attend. I just need a drug screening test and background test.

I graduated!
