WGU Pre-Licensure BSN Program vs Chamberlain University Program

Updated:   Published

Hey all,

I have a question. Does anyone have any insight about these two programs: WGU Pre-Licensure BSN or Chamberlain University BSN programs? I am trying to get all of the details and facts about each. I have applied to Chamberlain, however I am just struggling with the cost of the program. Especially since I am already an LVN and have a BA in another field. Would anyone recommend one over the other? It would be the Texas location. Thanks guys!

I agree Chamberlain is excessively expensive. I'm currently in my first semester at WGU Pre-licensure Texas. WGU is 60% online and 40% clinicals/labs, so I have seen a lot of LVNs, single moms, and students working full time with no problem. WGU makes it very doable to live you're life outside of school, which I love. Also clinical hours are done on a 3 week period in the whole semester, which again gives you freedom to do other things. I heard Chamberlain's professors are not that good and they try to weed out students right after classes start, and not to mention the horrible grading scale. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hello!

Do they give LPN's any credit for the practical nursing program?
