Western Suffolk Boces LPN 2017

Updated:   Published

Hello! I wanted to start a new topic as many of the boces topics are very old. I have my interview with Western Suffolk Boces this week for the LPN program and I am totally nervous! What type of questions do they ask? How long do they take to get back to you with an acceptance / denial? Do they accept a lot of students....or do they deny a lot? I have been trying to get into suffolk community colleges program for over a year and even with my good TEAS score I am not able to get in, the applicant pool is so huge so I am hoping BOCES is different. If any one can give me any information on this school and its program and the interview process that would be awesome! Thank you!!

Hi emmaleeann, i saw that you wrote that post in May so I was wondering how your interview went? & if you have found out whether you have been accepted or not yet? I had applied to the surgical technology program at western suffolk boces... i cant find any forums on the internet for surgtech so ive been searching through the lpn forums, since the application and interview process is pretty much the same for both programs at boces. The only thing i dont know if its the same or not is how competitive the 2 programs are... I know lpn programs on long island are extremely competitive and im just trying to find out my chances of being accepted into the surg tech program b/c i had my interview 2 weeks ago and they told me i wont receive my letter of acceptance/rejection until mid to late august :-s. its already killing me having to wait this long. So anyway, just wanted to see how much further you got in the application process and if you did get your letter of acceptance, how long did it take to get it from your interview date?

If there is ANYONE out there that sees this and has any info or an idea about the surgical tech program at wilson tech/western suffolk boces, please let me know!!! Info regarding how competitive it is, and if theres a wait list. I know this is "allnurses" but i cant get answers anywhere!!! I just want to ease my mind a little... b/c i have no clue what to expect once i get my letter.

Emmaleeann i hope you got in, and if you can, please do share your experience you had throughout the whole process!! It would be a huge help! Thank you!

PS- sry if theres a lot of grammar mistakes, im typing this at work so im typing really fast lol.

Hi! Yes I did get in! I start September 11th and I can't wait. I got my acceptance letter about 10 days after my interview which I was very surprised about! I mailed in my 3 references within the first 3 days, I had then lined up and waiting to fill them out so I got that done quick. My deposit is due at the end of this month (which is a hefty $1,500 and not covered by finiancial aid), and I have orientation the first week of August. I'm not familiar with the surgtech program, when does it start?

It seems like from everything I've read it's a lot of $$ to shell out to start, but it will be worth it!

Good luck to you and I hope you get in!! Keep me posted!!
