West Coast University-LVN-BSN (Anaheim) 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello All,

I am in the process of applying for West Coast University in Orange County (Anaheim). I was hoping to start a convo and connect w/ other people going through the application process for the LVN-BSN, as well as current and past students that I hope might have some insight on the program.

I have completed almost all of the GE's/Pre reqs required, I still have one English and a psych class to take which I will be taking in CC over the next two semesters, as I do not intend to start WCU until Jan 2023. I have completed my HESI and will submit my official transcripts for review, based on the requirements It seems that as far as my HESI score and GPA go, I should be "unconditionally accepted".  Once I start I should only have the 3 courses that WCU requires students to take @ WCU as well as nursing core.

One of the questions that I have for anyone that is currently in the program or has graduated from the program - Has anyone commuted from San Diego?, I realize that it will change w/ every course/ semester and I know some classes are still online because of Covid but I am wondering how many days a week I would typically need to actually drive to WCU or to clinical sites. I am kind of just looking for others experiences on this commute.

I would also just like to hear the general experience people have had w/ WCU  (completing application process, financial aid, classes, etc.)

Hi! I am currently an LVN to BSN student and graduate this August 2022. I use to live and work in SD but moved back to OC to attend school; however, little did I know we were all online except skills lab and clinical. Majority of clinical locations depending on the term are in South OC, North OC, or some parts of LA. There have been plenty of students from SD who go to our school and find friends to commute with. Your first year of CORE is x2 days a week of class meeting and one day of clinical. Your second year is one day a week of an online class meeting (or in person depending on the school and COVID cases), then you have a class that is solely online and all your assignments are due either Wednesdays or Sundays. Clinicals then would be either 8hr, 10hrs, or 12hrs. Feel free to email me by the way and we can connect more ([email protected]).

how long  was your lvn to BSN program?

How long is the program with all your prerequisite completed and only having to do the 3 courses west coast requires to be done with them?
