West Coast University: Current or Alumni students, did you enjoy the BSN program

Published

I'm a current pre-nursing student at a community college. I am taking my pre-req's right now and had originally planned to just go for my ADN at golden west or lbcc only because of the time it would save (as compared to immediately going for a bsn).

I was planning on taking the NCLEX, getting a job and THEN going back for a accelerated BSN program.

However, my fiance's brother, who just finished the nursing program at LBCC, is highly suggesting to me that I go to an accredited private school instead of a state school or cc. He says that looking back on the road he took, he would choose a different path if he could and would have rather studied at a private school. According to him, the attention you have from the teachers is probably better at a private school, and it is a lot easier to go through a nursing program when you're not worrying about state budget cuts, waiting lists, etc.

I guess my question is for those of you who DO go to West Coast University........I am really interested in hearing if you enjoy your time there and if it is a fulfilling program. Are you happy about your choice?

I know money is the big issue to everyone, however for me and where I am in life I do not have the time to wait on a waiting list to MAYBE get in....and I've read about people being on waiting lists, going to WCU instead, and after having graduated they hear back from the state school (YEARS LATER).

For me, the cost is overwhelming however the saved time is more valuable to me so I am willing to pay what I have to.

I just would like to know from people who go there if they actually really like the school or not??

Thank you so much!!

no replies!? :( I am also inquiring about this schools. If you hear anything back please let me know. Also Did you decide to go on with the program?
