West Coast University Challenge Exam

Published

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone challenged a class at west coast. I am planning to challenge the English 340 class, but i do not really understand what to study for except for what they have on the syllabus they provide. I just want to have a better understanding of what to expect for my exam. i am assuming that the exam would just be to write an essay, but i was informed that some computer work would be included too (this is what confused me). Hopefully, I can get some things cleared up before i spend $100 to take the exam. Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi,

I know you posted this over a year ago, but I am currently in the same position. I have tested out of Speech and English 134, but I found both quite difficult. The questions they asked were insane. Ive already taken these classes and got As, but in the challenge exam I just barely passed! Really think they want you to fail them so you have to pay for the semester. Can you tell me what the Eng 340 exam was like?

THanks so much!

I took English 340 ( english II ) online. It was easier that way. The catch is that there is an extra $150 fee for online courses. Good luck!

THanks. Geesh, why is it not surprising they charge you more to take it online. Was there a lot of APA studying?

Well, not really. Here's how the online English class was:

1. There's a weekly discussion that you have to participate in. I think you have to post your assignment initially, and then 2-3 comments to the other students.

2. There is also a video lesson that helps a lot. Sometime's it's tedious, but I don't think they were too long.

3. There are a few assignments that you would need to email through the website before a certain time.

4. There were quizzes at the end of the week on the video lesson that you viewed. For English, there were mostly multiple choice and fill ins.

5. The final is a paper on APA format. Essentially, each lesson and assignment per week prepares you for your paper so you won't get behind.

If you ever have a problem, communicate with your teacher through email or through chatting when they're on for their "virtual office hours". It's important to communicate with him or her. I don't remember what else I had to do. If you decide to do it, don't fall behind because catching up is always hard (especially when you start your nursing classes). Also, the online class didn't take too much of my time. If you're working, you'll be able to manage. Hope this helps you make your decision. Good luck!

Thanks! I really appreciate it.
