I posted some questions earlier about radial pulse and blood pressure skills testing. I have some more questions... i cant really study at home so im trying to just watch all the youtube videos on skills i can that seem closest to what i was taught in school and what book says but it seems like there are alot that are so diffrent fromb what i was taught. The school i went to was the worst i wouldnt recommend it to anyo e and they taught me nothing. During the videos they say to wash hands before and after each skill but the book doesnt say that. It says wash only after skills. During washington state skills test through pearson vue do we wash before too?
Also, when filling wash basin for washing bed bath, catheter, peri care and feet do we need to use a towel to turn on and off water faucet like we do when washing hands? I would assume so but book doesnt say and videos dont show either..
If i grab more towels than needed do i automatically fail? I want to make sure i have enough or if i choose to use one as privacy blanket or whatever...
When puting client in wheelchair do we lock it? I do at work because i dont want them rolling away i thought we were supposed to but i heard from someone that was considered restraint
When ambulating them and bringing them back to bed it doesnt say in book what to do next. In class we were taught we had to lie them back down cover up bed locked and low but the videos just show them sitting on edge of bed with call light. So im not sure if i should waste 40 more sec puting them to bed
I made a list of questions to ask the instructor but i cant bring paper with me so i will forget.
I kniw every state is diffrent thats why im trying to find people from washington state that have recently taken test that can help me... plus as of august 2018 some skills tests have changed. Ive called health dept and pearson vue they all say they dont know answers or who to ask, after sitting on hold over an hour!
