I do well in my A&P written exams, but I have struggled somewhat with the labs. I struggle sometimes with "spatial relations" and working with my hands sometimes if it's the first time I'm doing an activity. I am not one that likes to naturally assemble things or put together furniture from IKEA.
There are several reasons why I think I'd be a good nurse, but I'm scared that I won't be able to handle the intensity of working with my hands. A friend told me that "I need to be comfortable in the labs in order to be a good nurse." I'm curious to get feedback from nurses about this issue. How much of your job applies your mechanical abilities? Do you receive training when it comes to working with machines, devices, etc. Are science labs any type of barometer as to one's success as a nurse? What are your thoughts?
