Wallace/Lawson/Jeff State Points???

Published

Ok, can anyone tell me what the average points are that are needed to make you competitive. I know Jeff state is usually around 185 right? I heard rumors that Wallace is usually lower? Also, i've read some negative stuff about Wallace, but they had a 91 percent NCLEX pass rate last year. Anyone LOVE wallace?

This is my first semester at wallace and so far i'm enjoying it. I'm not sure what the point range was for this semester but we have a class of about 200.

If you dont mind me asking, how many points did you have? Also, is it just like the jeff state one? Do you know how exactly the points are distributed?

Wallace is a lot easier to get into from what I've heard. The classes at jeff state are a lot smaller and IMO easier to learn in because you know everyone around you.

I think I had around179 points but i'm not sure

I know a girl who got into Wallace with 150 or 160 something last Fall. Needless to say she has already failed out of the program twice.

I really wanna know if 175 would make you competitive at Jeff or Wallace. Also, how hard is it to hit a 99 on the Compass reading test?

average at jeff state is185-186. I am also trying to find out about Wallace points, I heard its alot less there. I have a 165 right now and apying for fall.. And I'm retaking a&p 2 and taking micro this summer. I know it won't count for fall but hopefully maybe I can get into wallace this fall and transfer to jeff state. I dont know. This point thing is a pain. I know jeff state will no longer accept math 116 in spring 2010 and PAX exam will be back. More to worry about.

I was told by an advisor at WSCC that the cutoff for the last admissions cycle was 147. I'm hoping to get in for the spring semester!

I made a 98 on the COMPASS reading the first try. The lady in the testing center said that she's never seen anyone get the 99.

Not to toot my own horn, but I got 99 on the Compass.:lol2:

Compass was easy, I got a 99.

Also, you can't really transfer from Wallace to Jeff State if you're already in nursing school.

I am at Jeff State now and I can tell you that 175 won't get in. 184 was the cutoff last semester at the Pinson campus, and that is the highest it's ever been at this campus. 99 on the compass is doable, but I got a 98. Still don't know what I missed and that makes me mad..... no way to find out.

Jeff state accepts 50 per semester while Wallace accepts about 200, so the points are lower. Wallace has a better NCLEX pass rate by far. Wallace has done it longer, and does it better.

The PAX exam is absolutely a rumor. THERE IS NO TRUTH TO IT. Many of the teachers want it to be true, but the entrance criteria is set by the State of Alabama. Do you think is is merely coincidence that EVERY community college in the state uses the exact same point system?
