Waiting to take my NCLEX for an NJ License and Just Found Out Family is Moving to CA. Advice?

Published

Hi everyone, I received my ATT for the NCLEX to receive an NJ license upon passing. Unfortunately, I found out a month later that circumstances dictate that we are to move to California. I hear California is the worst when it comes to transferring licenses and even reject applicants for a variety of reasons. Would it be best to apply for endorsement for a CA license as soon as I receive my NJ license? I won't be working in NJ obviously, so no employer here would be able to endorse me, no letters of recommendation. Is there any way I can have my license application changed before I take the NCLEX in <2 weeks?

Any advice would be appreciated! I'm in a sticky situation and not sure on the best way to proceed.
