I'm a new pre-nursing student. I heard that as a nursing student I must volunteer a lot because it's like getting experiences and it would be easy to get jobs after graduating. Is it right? If so, how many volunteer hours should be enough. Thanks for all advance!!

Hi! Yes volunteering would be very helpful. I just submitted an application to my local hospital. Depending on where you are it could help you get a job, especially at the hospital you plan to volunteer at. It's good to have contact with certain people and make a good impression cause it could help you out in the long run.
As for the amount of time you should volunteer, I'm not sure (try to volunteer as much as you can or as much as the place you plan to volunteer lets you), but every little bit helps.
Good luck!

When I start volunteering and school at the end of the month, I plan on spending my time to one of those two activities at any given moment. At my interview, they asked me how many hours per week I could spare to volunteer (has to be a minimum of 1 hour per week). I told them "Whenever I can be here.", so they wrote down Mondays through Fridays. If I can go out there on weekends, I will.
Just completely submerge yourself into the environment of a nurse with as much volunteer work as you can spend, and at the same time, incorporate your school work into it, however you can.
Thanks for replying, that would be very helpful.
To be honest, I am a shy person who never spend time for community activities or something like that. I've been in U.S for 2 years and I'm not cofident at my English right now. By my efforts, I'll do all my best!!

Hello, I am going to be volunteering in my local hospital, their volunteer program want you to commit to a specific shift each week, so I will be doing a four hour shift on sunday afternoons.
Volunteering will give you a great chance to meet other people and practice introducing yourself and having conversations with strangers. It should give you a good confidence boost :)
